Download Picasa Web Albums Without Installing Picasa

Note: this post initially linked to a Greasemonkey script that no longer works, but it now offers an easier solution suggested in the comments.

Unlike other photo sharing sites, Picasa Web Albums offers a way to download an entire album, but that requires Picasa 2.5 or later. If you don't want to install the application or you use Mac or Linux, there are other ways to download a photo album.

For Firefox, you can use DownThemAll, probably the best download manager add-on. After installing the extension and restarting the browser, go to the album you want to download, click on the "RSS" link from the sidebar and you'll get the album's feed. Right-click on the page, select DownThemAll/DownThemAll in the contextual menu, expand the Filters section and check "Images". Don't forget to enter the folder where you want to save the photos.

YouTube Feeds

YouTube has never offered too many feeds and they were usually difficult to find. The new YouTube API changed that, but the feeds are still inaccessible from the interface. This why I decided to compile a list of the most useful YouTube feeds you may want to add in your favorite feed reader:

1. Search feeds

(replace mapreduce with your query)

2. Search in a category

(Film is the category, while michel gondry is the query - you need to replace the space with %20. Other categories: Music, Comedy, News, Sports, Autos, Howto.)

3. The latest videos from a channel

(replace radiohead with your channel)

...or only the videos that match your keywords:

Make thumbnail for related posts

You may know the code for related posts which I showed in previous post in Simplex Design blog. In this post ,I want to show you the code for adding thumbnail to related posts . This code is based on related posts code before but add some lines for thumbnail . I myself don't create this code ,I found it in Bloggerpluggins blog,and introduce it here ,I hope it helpful for you all .

Here is steps for doing this hack :

1,Go to Dashboard ,continue to Layout --> Edit HTML .Checked on Expand Widgets template .

How can I create expandable post summaries?

The Quick Answer

Add tags to your posts to mark which parts you want hidden in the summary version.
Add CSS declarations to your template to hide those sections on the index and archive pages, but not on post pages.

With this trick, you can choose to display an arbitrary amount of text from the beginning of each post, as a teaser for the whole thing. Then users who want to read the rest of the post can click a link to see the full text. This is handy if you have lots of long articles all on one page. Note that you'll need to have post pages enabled in order to make this feature work.

There are three ingredients that go into this feature: conditional CSS, a "read more" link for each post, and a modification for the posts that use this feature. So let's go through it step by step.

Conditional CSS

We're going to use conditional tags to change how posts display on different pages. Add the following code to your style sheet, depending on what kind of template you have:

Notes:

As with any template modifications, you should be sure to save a backup copy of your template before you start. Just copy and paste all your code to a text file on your hard drive, so you'll have it there as a replacement in case anything goes wrong.
An alternative to creating post excerpts like this is to use the show/hide method on entire posts. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages to this method: Customizable summaries, rather than titles only. Can be applied to some posts and not others (for instance, you might only want this for your longer posts).
Disadvantages: Requires changes to the posts themselves, rather than to the template only. However, the "read more" link is in the template, so it will appear regardless of whether a post has been truncated or not. (Modifying this feature is left as an exercise for the reader.)

A Popular Posts Gadget from Google Friend Connect

While browsing around looking for more Blogger gadgets to add to the directory, I discovered an awesome feature offered by Google Friend Connect: the Recommended (Popular) Posts Gadget.

This is a feature which I'm sure we've all been waiting for! While we have seen various implementations of popular posts gadgets in the past, I've found these are not as useful or easy to configure as I'd prefer.

In contrast, the Friend Connect Recommended Gadget stable, reliable and quickly updates. Being developed and hosted by Google ensures this is unlikely to suffer issues, and once installed it's very easy for your blog readers to recommend their favourite posts.

Want to see how it works? Take a look in the sidebar to see a list of posts recommended by Blogger Buster readers, and scroll down to the bottom of this post for the button you can use to vote (this appears on every page of Blogger Buster, so feel free to recommend any other posts you may like!).

How to install your Friend Connect Popular Posts Gadget

Unfortunately, this Friend Connect gadget is not (yet) installable in one click. There are two elements required for complete installation, and these are relatively easy.

Firstly, log into Friend Connect. You will need to use the same credentials (username and password) as you do when logging in to Blogger.

Once you've logged in, you'll see a page which appears similar to this one:

Any blogs which you have created with your Google account will appear in the list on the left-hand side of the page.

Click on the blog you would like to work with (if this is not already selected). This will open a sub-menu beneath the title of your blog.

Click the "Social Gadgets" link in this sub-menu:

On the following page, scroll down to the "Recommendation" widget - this is the gadget we will be using to display our blog's most popular posts, as voted by blog members:

Click through to create and style the Recommendation gadget for your blog.

Style the Recommendation List

In the first area of this page, you can choose how your recommendation list will be styled when added to your Blogger layout.

If you'd prefer any of the color elements (such as the background and border) to be transparent, simply delete the hex value.

You'll be able to preview the changes made to the style and settings of your recommendation list in the top right corner of the page.

Configure the Voting Buttons

The second area of this page enables you to configure the appearance of the voting button. This is what will appear on the post pages of your blog, and is what your readers will click to recommend posts they enjoy.

There are two distinct types of voting buttons you could choose from:

A "compact" button appears like this
A "modular" button appears like this:

For either style of button, you can choose between the heart or tick icons. When choosing the "modular" button, the colours of the text, border and background may also be altered:

Generate and add the JavaScript for your Gadget

Once you've configured the appearance you prefer for the recommendation list and voting button, you can generate the codes required to add these to your template by clicking the button in the third section of the page:

This will generate two different sets of code - one for the recommendation list, and another for the voting button.

Add the code for the Recommendation List

The easiest way to include the Recommendation List (the list of your most popular posts) in your blog is to paste the code into an HTML/JavaScript widget in your Blogger sidebar.

Simply highlight all of the code in the "aggregation gadget" section, and copy to your clipboard. Then go to Layout>Page Elements in your Blogger dashboard, create a new HTML/JavaScript widget in the area of your choice and paste the code from your clipboard into the content section of your gadget.

Add the code for your voting button on post pages

Ideally, we should add the voting button to appear only on item pages. This ensures there is no conflict when posting multiple buttons on the same page (for example, the blog home page which displays more than one post); it also makes for simpler installation.

To add the voting button to our item pages, we need to edit our Blogger template code.

Go to Layout>Edit HTML in your Blogger dashboard, and ensure you have checked the "Expand widget templates" box.

Then using your browser's search function, locate the line which contains <data:post.body/>

This section of code may be wrapped in <div> or <p> tags depending on the template you are using.

Immediately after this line, paste the following section of code:

Once you've pasted the script, preview the changes you have made to ensure the button does not appear on your blog's home page. If all looks well and no errors are reported, continue to save your template and complete the installation.

Using your Recommendation Gadget

At first, your recommendation list will not display any posts. This is because no posts have yet been voted for using the voting button.

You could vote for a few posts yourself by clicking on the voting button on post pages, or you could simply wait for readers to vote by themselves.

When using the voting link, a pop-up page will appear prompting the user to log into Friend Connect (if they are not already logged in) and afterwards will be able to recommend the post. Votes are counted almost immediately, and are listed beneath each item in the Recommendation List:

I sincerely prefer the Friend Connect Recommendation Gadget to other "popular posts" widgets I have tried as the results are based on reder engagement and genuine recommendations which offer a greater sense of community than "page views" alone.

My only reservation is that this gadget cannot be added in a few simple clicks. Having to edit our Blogger templates to add the voting buttons id a dissuading factor for many when considering whether or not to install it.

That said, I have a good feeling that this gadget may soon be integrated into the Blogger system, as so many Friend Connect gadgets and features already have!

You Might As Well Jump!

It's time to announce another Blogger Birthday feature! Many users have been asking for an easy way to implement "Read more" links on their blog's index page. In fact, for years bloggers have been implementing "Read more" jump breaks themselves by manually editing their HTML --- a process that was complicated and error prone.

Today we are excited to announce our latest birthday present: Jump Breaks.

With Jump Breaks you can show just a snippet of your post on your blog's index page. Blogger will insert a "Read more" link to the full post page where your readers can keep reading.

There are a couple of ways to insert a "Read more" jump to your posts. If you use the new post editor (available on Blogger in Draft, or by enabling it via the Settings tab), you'll notice the "Insert jump break" icon in the editor's toolbar. Click this icon and the "jump break" will be inserted into your blog post at your cursor's position.

If you don't use the new post editor, you can still insert a jump break in Edit HTML mode by adding <!-- more --> where you want to position the jump break.

Want to change the "Read more" text to something more your style? No problem. You can edit the "Read more" text by clicking Layout and then Edit the Blog Posts widget.

One more note, the Jump Break feature does not change how your post appears in your feed. You can configure post feed options by going to Settings | Basic | Site Feed, and editing Allow Blog Feeds.

Update: Users that have customized their Blog Posts widget or otherwise have highly customized templates: You may need to edit your HTML to enable Jump Breaks. First, back up your template, then follow the instructions at the bottom of this help article.

Customizing Blogger post Navigation script

Blogger Blogs have default post navigation script which allows user to navigate between posts.It consists of ” older posts” , “Newer posts” and ” Home page” link. Since it’s default , no CSS codings are added for the navigation script. So in this post I will explain how to modify the script and to add background images and then aligning the older posts and newer posts links properly.

Know the script codes

Before explaining how to customize the codes , I would like to explain the tags involved in the blogger templates which control the blogger post navigation script.

CSS codes

Firstly, let us see the default code included in minima or Rounders blogger template.

Troubleshooting problems with blog post navigation script

Few might have noticed that the Blog post navigation links will be misaligned sometimes. Newer post , Older post and Home page links will get together. So it means that the CSS codes are missing for the file. To overcome this problem , just copy and paste the corresponding CSS code you need above ]]></b:skin> .

Sometimes the blog post navigation may be missing in your blog. It’s because the blog post navigation code may be missing in your template. To overcome this problem , search this tag in your template with ” expand widget templates” option enabled.

HTML and JavaScript inside blogger posts using custom display boxes

It is very difficult for anyone using Blogger blogs to show HTML codes and JavaScript inside the blog posts . You might have also seen people showing the scripts in small display boxes of fixed length and width. Now after applying this Blogger trick ,
you would be able to show HTML and JavaScript inside Blogger posts with custom display boxes .

Click on layout of the blog in which want show HTML or JavaScript and now select edit HTML .

Before you apply any Blogger hack ,remember to download and save your full template.

Now tick the expand widget templates and move onto the selection shown below ( towards the end of CSS code ) .

Otherwise you can press Cntrl+F and paste ]]></b:skin> on appearing search box then enter

Expand Post options from the Blogger text editor ( On the bottom left corner ) . From the compose settings, select Interpret typed HTML . Now everything would appear fine .

Inside the box provided paste the script and click make it friendly

Now copy the generated code and paste between <pre> & </pre> to keep it inside display box

Making the script postable is the only requirement if you plan to show the HTML or Java Script alone , without a display box.

Adsense integration now easier than ever with Blogger's Monetize tab

Have you noticed the new "Monetize" tab at the top of your Blogger dashboard?

This new section of our Blogger dashboards makes it easier than ever to integrate Google Adsense in our blogs and see just how much our blogs are earning.

Google's Adsense program is a simple solution which many Bloggers use to monetize their sites. For some time now, Blogger have made it easy for us to include Adsense ads in the sidebar (as a page element) and around blog posts (as an option in the Layout>Page Elements section, when you click the "Edit" link for your blog posts).

If you have already configured Adsense in your blog by adding an Adsense page element to the layout, or enabling ads between posts, by clicking on the Monetize tab you will be able to see statistics for your earnings, like this:

On this page, there are also links to view your Adsense Payment History, earnings reports and to switch the account associated with this particular blog. You can also choose to "remove ads" from all aspects of your Blogger layout at the click of a button.

For those who have not yet chosen to monetize their sites with Adsense, or who have configured Adsense manually in their templates, you will see a page like this instead:

This means that your Adsense account has not been associated with this blog. No earnings reports will be displayed, even if - like me - you have manually configured Adsense by adding the required JavaScript to your Blogger template code.

For those of you yet to add Adsense to your layout, simply choose one of the ad-layout options most suitable for your needs anc click the "Next" button. You may be required to set up an Adsense account (or associate an existing account with your Blogger profile), after which your ads will be immediately placed in your layout. Then when you visit the Monetize tab, you will be able to see details of your Adsense earnings for the ads you have placed in your layout.

What you need to know about Adsense monetization and the new Monetize tab

Although Blogger have made it very easy for members to add Adsense to their blogs, not every applicant will be successful in getting their own Adsense account.

Adsense reviews all applicants to the program before agreeing to (or denying) a new account. In order to apply for an Adsense account, you must be over 18 years old and have a website which complies with Adsense policies. If you post any questionable content on your site, you really should check these policies to ensure your site complies before submitting your application.

Also, the reports displayed on the Monetize tab will only show page views and earnings from the time that you connected your Adsense account with this blog. If you have previously linked your Adsense account with your Blogger profile, it seems the "All Time" earnings will display earnings from today onwards (one of my blogs uses an Adsense Page Element, but is only displaying earnings from today).

A new channel in your Adsense account for each Blogger blog you monetize

If you log into your Adsense account, you will notice a new channel has been set up for each of your blogs, which contains the URL of your blog in the title.

The information from this channel is what's used to present the earnings data for the Monetize section of each blog you write.

Not yet an ideal solution for everyone...

I am very happy to see that the Blogger team have put such effort towards integrating all of the Google services we Bloggers currently use. However, I am a little disappointed at some aspects of this new feature.

For my own blogs, I have added Adsense manually, by editing the Blogger template and inserting ad codes where I would like them to be displayed. For this reason, I am unable to see any reports on the Monetize tab. In fact, it appears as though I have not set Adsense up at all.

Also, the earnings displayed on the Monetize page will only include the earnings for this particular blog, not your total earnings from any different sites operated.

However, these are small issues, and perhaps these issues will not affect most other Blogger users.

I'm really excited about this new feature, and think it is the perfect way for the Blogger team to see the features (and recommended blogs) which are most desired by the Blogger community. While we have previously been able to suggest a new feature and suggest blogs of note, these forms gave us no indication of how popular these suggestions were. This forum enables us to see what others have suggested, how popular these suggestions are, and also to vote these up or down depending on our own preferences.

The term "CSS positioning" refers to using CSS to position elements on your HTML page. CSS allows you to position any element precisely where you want it. You can specify whether you want the element positioned relative to its natural position in the page or absolute based on its parent element.

Absolute positioning can be very useful for creating advanced layouts and cool visual effects such as overlapping elements to present a layered effect.

Relative Positioning

To perform relative positioning in CSS you use position:relative; followed by the desired offset from either top, right, bottom or left

IDs vs Classes

Given classes and IDs are very similar, you may be wondering which one to use. This depends on the situation.

When to use classes

You should use classes when your style needs to be applied multiple times on the same page. For example, you might have many h1 elements that need the same style applied.

When to use IDs

You should use IDs if only one element on the page should have the style applied, and/or you need a unique identifier for that element. For example, you might assign an ID to a div tag which contains your left menu. The styles for this ID could contain the position, background-color, float properties, size etc. You probably wouldn't want any other element on the page to use this particular style.

Another useful thing about IDs is that you can use the Document Object Model (DOM) to refer to them. This enables you to use JavaScript/DHTML techniques to build a much more interactive web site.

Once installed, this plugin allows you to insert mp3 audio files into your posts and pages. Use the following syntax:

This code will insert a flash player and will load the file named name_of_mp3_file.mp3 located in your audio files folder. You can store your audio files anywhere in the web root as long as you update the path in the plugin’s options panel. The default is /audio.

You can also use absolute paths to link to files on other servers:

Audio Player can also play a sequence of audio clips. Use commas to separate the files:

The entire player colour scheme is customisable. Use the Audio Player options panel in your WP admin to set the colour scheme of your player. You can also change the colours per player instance by using runtime options. Here are the colours that you can set:

Creating Icons in the Correct Size and Format

A shortcut icon for Internet Explorer must be square in size, and at least 16 x 16 pixels. Consider creating both a 16 x 16-pixel icon as well as a 32 x 32-pixel icon (and larger, bandwidth permitting), since on high-DPI displays, Internet Explorer may stretch the icon to fit the available space.

To create the icon, use an icon editor, such as the one included in Microsoft Visual Studio, and save the icon in the .ico file format. Internet Explorer will ignore icons that are not in .ico format, and will instead display the default Internet Explorer shortcut icon.
Associating the Shortcut Icon with Your Web Page

After creating the icon, you must associate it with your Web page. There are two methods for doing this.

Get your blog indexed by major search engine such as Google is really important especially if you were targeting on traffics from the search engine. Get your blog indexed by search engine such as google is one of the most important thing that you should learn to SEO your blog. By get indexing by Google, your article in the blog now can be show up in the search engine.

First of all, make sure you have read my “How to check if my blog already get index by google?” post before you read the above method.
1. Add you blog link to the social bookmarking site

There is a lot of social bookmarking in the internet right now. But, our target is to get our blog indexed by the search engine through social bookmarking. So, we choose some high PageRank (PR) social bookmarking site to submit our blog.

Why we need to add our blog to high PR social bookmarking site? This is because google spider frequently visits this high PR site looking for new content in it. So, once the google spider crawl to the website and found your blog link there, the Google Spider also will automatically crawl to your blog. When the Google Spider crawl to your blog, thats meant your blog is already started to be indexed by GOOGLE. Easy right?

But most people doesn’t know which high PR social bookmarking site should I choose? Here you go, Taufik Hidayat has share his List of High PR Social Bookmarking Site at WMTips.

2. Make a comment on Do-Follow blog

What is Do-Follow blog? Do-Follow blog is blog that already alters the rel=”nofollow” tag in their comment section. All you have to do is comment on that do-follow blog by including your blog link in the comment URL form. Once google come to that do-follow blog and found your blog link in the comment sections, it will automatically follow your blog and indexing your blog in the same time. Really easy right?

And just like submitting to social bookmarking site technique, you also need to make sure you comment on high PR do-follow blog. But, where I can found any do-follow blog? Here is some of my favourite Do-follow list and Do-follow blog directories:

3. Add your blog to Google Analytics Tool

This is one of the famous way to get your blog get index faster by Google. Google Analytics is a tool which is use to make analysis on your blog. By using this tool, you can easily observe everything that happen on your site.

How did this technique work? Well, during the registration of your blog to the Google Analytics, you need to add the meta url to your blog code to make sure your blog is approved. So, during that time Google Spider will automatically visit you site to find that meta url and automatically index your site.

Apart from just to get your blog index by google, this tool is really useful for other purposes to such as maintaining your blog. If you were using self-hosted wordpress blog, you can easily add Google Analytics code to your site using this plugin: Google Analytics for Wordpress.

4. Make an article and submit it to article submission site

This trick already been used for many years and it still work well to get your blog index by google faster. I know that many of us doesn’t like to write an article and submit it to the article submission directory. But, believe me that this technique really work although it consume your time a bit.

You will not only get your blog index faster but google, but you also can get some instant traffics to your blog just by submitting some useful article to those Article Submission site.

Just like the another technique above, you still need to make sure that you submit your article to high PR list of Article Submission site. Here the top 10 high PR Free Article Submission from DollorShower.

But make sure that you hyperlink your blog address in the article and make sure that the article you were writing is in the same topic with the blog that you want to get the blog indexed faster by google.

How to add MyBlogLog comment avatars (author images) to your comments section

A great way to add a sense of community to your blog is by using comment avatars: an image (or icon) which is unique to the person who is making the comment. When using comment avatars in your blog, you will easily be able to recognize comment authors, especially those who regularly visit your blog. Also I feel this adds a greater sense of interaction between blog authors and their readers.

By default, Blogger only shows comment avatars on comment pages (either pop-up or full screen, depending on your comment settings). However, no comment avatars appear in the most visually important place: in your item pages where comments are displayed beneath your posts. Additionally, only the comment avatars of registered Blogger users may appear on these pages, so if your readers blog on a different blogging platform, their avatar cannot appear at all.

But there is a solution: add MyBlogLog comment avatars to your blog!

When you register your membership with MyBlogLog (a community website for bloggers) you will be able to upload a photo or avatar which will then be used to identify yourself in MyBlogLog's many services.

Thanks to Blog Bloke's post about MyBlogLog comment avatars, I am now using Merlinox's MyBlogLog Blogger Plugin to feature MyBlogLog comment avatars in this blog. This is based on MyAvatars, a Wordpress plugin designed by Napolux. This technique displays the comment authors MyBlogLog avatar beside their name and comment, and where no avatar is found (usually when the commenter has not registered with MyBlogLog), you will instead see a default image.

You can find Merlinox's original instructions for installing MyBlogLog avatars here (which also includes a tutorial for those using Classic Blogger templates). Here I have also provided full instructions for installation, which I hope will help clarify any issues which may be unclear in Merlinox's post.

How to install MyBlogLog comment avatars in your Blogger Layouts blog

First, make a full backup of your blog template by going to Template>Edit HTML in your Blogger dashboard, then clicking on the "Download full template" link near the top of the page. It is always good practice to do this before making any adjustments to your blog's template in case you make a mistake and need to revert back to a working template afterwards!
Next, go back to the Edit HTML section of your dashboard, and check the "expand widget templates" box. Then, just before the closing tag in your template, insert the following lines of code:

This will link to the javascript used to power the comment avatars which is hosted by Merlinox.
Next, you will need to find the following line of code:

This will be in the comments section of your template, and is easily found using the search function of your browser (CTRL+F). If you cannot find this line, this is probably because you have forgotten to expand the widget templates!
Right after this phrase, add the following section of code:

Now, save your template and take a look at one of your blog posts which has a few comments. You will see that any commenter who has a MyBlogLog account and avatar will now have their image featured beside their name. Those who do not have a MyBlogLog account will feature the default question mark avatar instead.

As you have read, this is quite an easy hack to implement in your blog. This will enable MyBlogLog comment avatars for your comments, even if you are not a member of MyBlogLog yourself!

What you should know about using MyBlogLog comment avatars

There are a few things you should be aware of if you decide to use MyBlogLog avatars in your blog template:

MyBlogLog avatars are linked to the URL of your blog, rather than your Blogger profile. So in order for your avatar to display, you'll need to comment as "Other" rather than using your Blogger display name (your Blogger account).

For blog authors, this also means you would need to change your settings for comments, and enable "anyone" to comment, rather than only registered users.
In the same sense, those who log in as "other" and provide their URL when commenting will not see their Blogger profile on Bloggers comments pages (the pages which appear when you post a comment). One solution to provide consistency for the comments is to disable "profile images on comments" in Settings>Comments of your Blogger dashboard.
The "default" image used for those who don't have a MyBlogLog avatar is much smaller than the 48x48px image used for those who do have an avatar. (As yet, I haven't been able to find a solution to use a different default avatar, though if I do discover a solution I will be sure to update this post!)
If you have recently become a member of MyBlogLog, your avatar will not display straight away. It may take up to three days for your avatar to display on blogs which have enabled this feature, so don't worry that it's not working, just wait a few days and your avatar will soon appear!

The instructions I provided above will link to the required script which is hosted on Merlinox's server (as he encourages readers to do this in his tutorial). If you would prefer to host the Javascript yourself, you should download this from Merlinox's post, upload to your own hosting account, and change the link to the script in the head of your template to refer to the location of your hosted script like this:

Of course, you should substitute the URL in this example for the exact URL where your script is hosted.

Step 1: Downloading and unzipping the file from the Exploding Boy website

Then, have a googlepages account and upload the pics there.

Step 2: Changing the Header to become appendable.

Modify this line:

Step 3: Prepare the CSS portion of the hack.

Go to the very end of this article and cut the CSS portion you like there, then paste it at the very end of the CSS code (right before the closing CDATA part - see picture below)

Make sure to replace "www.yourwebsite.com" to your website.

Below is an example of pasting the code for style F:

Step 4: Adding Label Widget

Follow the instructions from this article, especially step B.4. After you've done with inserting the code & save it, go to Page Element option and drag the newly added widget to stay under the Header area (that we fixed so that it would accomodate this new widget.)

If you use a style other than F, than make sure id='tabsF' reflects the correct tab, such as id='tabsE' for style E. Later, if you like a different design, just cut-and-paste the style's CSS code, then change this id again to reflect the change.

Labels are the key words that easily convey the summery of the main content. So while posting a new article we can put some labels related to the content of the post so that it will display on the main page itself.

For displaying label widget in the blog you have to add the page elemnt “labels” while customizing. I do have placed this lablel widget in my blog. But as I regularly updating my contents, the number of labels started increasing and I feel difficult to handle this. This became a major issue as the lable widget became so lengthy and it badly affects my blog’s arrangements.

In this situation, I realize the potentiality Drop Dow Menu. For displaying labels in a drop down menu it need small place. And there is no need to worry about the Increasing number of labels.

So I am here with a small Blogger Tip that helps you to display your labels in a Drop Down menu. The main attraction is you can change the length and font colour of the Drop Down Menu by using this Hack

Most said page navigation menu in the bottom of the page can appear only in Wordpress blogs. But Now here is a blogger hack which will help you to show Page Navigation Menu in bottom of the page ( see screenshot ) . you can Add this Page Navigation hack to your blogger template either by inserting script to your template by editing or you can add it as a widget . In this post I will write only how to add this Page navigation menu by editing template code.

I have used a background image for this Page Navigation hack. If you want to show this without the background image just remove the background image url .

In the code above you can edit the lines in red to your wish .

1 : var pageCount = 5;

The digit in red represents number of posts to be shown in single page. Change the digit to show as many pages you want.

for example :

In my blog I have put that value as 2 . In each page you can see only 2 posts .

2 : var displayPageNum = 3;

here the digit in red represents number of pages to be listed.

For example :

In my blog I have chosen 3 , then 3 pages will be shown.

That's it now we have added Page Navigation menu hack to our blog successfully .

That CSS code will suit almost all templates. Please don't remove the credit link.

Error code bX-jdokxi - i can't change my template!

Have you ever got the error code bX-jdokxi when you try to change template?

Any of you who have tried to change Blogger templates or moved around your blog’s page elements have probably seen the dreaded Blogger “bX-xxxxxx” cryptic error message.

It’s frustrating enough to see an error message after trying to make what seems like a trivial change to your blog and how can you fix the problem if you’re given an error code instead of a actionable error message like “template is incorrect on line xx”? Blogger’s support area doesn’t even give you information on what each error means and how to resolve it so if you want their help you need to post a message and wait 12+ hours for someone at Google support to respond. You would think Google would spend some more time and resources to improve their error messages and Blogger support.

So the main question is what does the error message actually mean and how can you fix it now?

For me, I was able to fix it by making a few changes but there was no exact science as to how I did it.

Use Fire Fox rather than Internet Explorer when you're having
trouble with a template.
Make a backup of the code in each of your gadgets or widgets, so
you can put them back later, then remove all of them.
Before attempting to upload a template, make sure the "Expand
Widget Template" box is UNchecked.
There are far less problems if you can get the template as a txt
file rather than xml. With a txt file you can just paste it in,
rather
than having to upload it.
Install one of Blogger's templates. Then try again.If you're using an xml file, don't paste it. Save it on your harddrive, and then on the template page, use "Browse" to find it on your computer. Then click "Upload."

For the Last ways and the Best way to Fix this error you should Revert to Classic Template:

Layout => Edit HTML => Revert to Classic Template
Customize Design => UPGRADE YOUR TEMPLATE => SAVE TEMPLATE
Layout => Edit HTML (Install with a new template).

Now I think you can change with a new template you like, without any error code.
